Halle Bailey and Regé-Jean Page star in this romantic comedy from director Kat Coiro. Soon after Anna (Bailey), unlucky in both love and life, loses her job and her home, she meets friendly Italian Matteo (Lorenzo de Moor) who drops into conversation the fact that he has a villa in Tuscany which is often empty. Seizing the opportunity, she flies to Italy and goes in search of the villa, hoping to escape from reality for a while.
When Matteo's family unexpectedly arrive she pretends to be his fiancée, but when she meets Matteo's handsome cousin Michael (Page), she realises too late that this ruse may have been a mistake.
