All four episodes of the 1980s drama starring Vivienne Ritchie as Jessie Marvill, a newly-qualified doctor who goes to work at an NHS hospital. As her training takes her through the hospital's various departments, Jessie's idealistic aspirations suffer as she finds herself dealing with the problems of NHS cuts and an institutional, ego-driven culture in which patients have been dehumanised, botched operations are routinely covered up, wards are sold off and the interests of pharmaceutical companies are paramount.
