Takashi Shimizu directs this American version of his Japanese supernatural horror 'Ju-on' (2003). In this sequel, the vengeful and terrible curse continues to consume and petrify all in its path as we are shown three seemingly unconnected stories. Aubrey Davis (Amber Tamblyn) travels to Japan when she discovers that her sister, Karen (Sarah Michelle Gellar) is hospitalised, and suspected of killing her boyfriend in an arson attack.
When Aubrey meets a journalist named Eason (Edison Chen) he informs her that her sister is being consumed by a dark force. Meanwhile, American school girl Allison Fleming (Arielle Kebbel), who attends an international school in Tokyo, does all she can to fit in with the school's popular girls. However, when she agrees to enter an old burned-out house, the consequences are devastating.
Finally, Jake (Matthew Knight) is living with his dad who has remarried quite soon after his mother's death and becomes sullen and reserved. As he becomes drawn to a mysterious and withdrawn neighbour it soon becomes clear that something more sinister is at work...
