Willem Dafoe and Brooklynn Prince star in this drama co-written and directed by Sean Baker. Moonee (Prince), an adventurous six-year-old girl, moves to the Florida city of Kissimmee for the summer. Staying at the Magic Castle Motel with her unstable mother Halley (Bria Vinaite), Moonee quickly settles in and makes friends with Jancey (Valeria Cotto), a young girl staying in a nearby guest house.
With Halley out most nights trying to scrape together enough money to pay the rent, Moonee forms a strong bond with motel owner Bobby (Dafoe) as she and her friends explore the area and attempt to make the best of the summer.
