Tom Selleck and Gene Simmons star in this sci-fi drama set in the near future when robots are tasked with performing everyday domestic duties within the family home, directed by Michael Crichton. Veteran police officer Jack Ramsey (Selleck) works with malfunctioning robots to ensure they cause no harm to the human population. However, when Ramsey and his new partner Karen Thompson (Cynthia Rhodes) discover that a computer programmer named Luther (Simmons) has bugged the appliances and programmed them to kill humans they must do all they can to prevent the technological genius from causing chaos.
