British psychological drama starring Curd Jurgens, Patricia Neal, Samantha Eggar and Ian Bannen. After a serious fall in her home Alison (Neal) loses her vision and suffers from a mental block regarding the exact circumstances of her fall, but despite this difficulty she and her husband (Jurgens) live a contented life. Only when her younger sister, Robin (Eggar), visits does Alison begin to recall her husband's previous infidelity with Robin as the trigger that caused her fall and she uses cunning in order to confirm her suspicions.
