Double bill of classic Hong Kong action dramas starring Jackie Chan, who also writes and co-directs. In 'Police Story' (1985) police officer Chan Ka-Kui (Chan) is assigned to protect informer Selina (Brigitte Lin), who is due to testify against crime lord Chu Tao (Chor Yuen). When she refuses this assistance Chan stages a mock assassination attempt in order to have her comply.
However, after discovering Chan's ruse Selina does not attend the trial and Chu Tao is released on bail. With Chu Tao back on the streets Selina is in more danger than ever before. Can Chan protect her as well as bring Chu Tao to justice? In the sequel, 'Police Story 2' (1988), Chan has been demoted to traffic duties following his heavy-handed manner.
However, when Chu Tao is released from prison early and is intent on causing chaos around Hong Kong, Chan is brought back into the force to try and stop his old nemesis.
