Humanity is under attack by demonic creatures called Oni. Unable to fight back by any other means, the scientist Dr. Saotome creates a series of giant robots that harness the mysterious power of Getter Rays, giving them the strength necessary to fight the Oni. The strongest of these is Getter Robo, and Saotome must enlist three very different men to pilot it to fight to end the Oni menace forever.
Episode 1: There goes Rayoma
Professor Saotome creates a robot so powerful it overwhelms ordinary pilots. To defeat the monstrous ONI, he recruits a masterful fighter to be his first pilot - Rayoma Nagare.
Episode 2: Hayato is Coming
Needing three pilots for the Getter Robo, the professor takes a chance on the Blood-Crazed leader of the revolution, Hayato Jini.
Episode 3: Benkei Musashinobou
Professor Saotome discovers his final pilot when he finds the gigantic Buddhist, Benkei Musashinobou. The only survivor of his temple after the Oni attacked.
Episode 4: The Three on the Loose
To perform at its peak, the Getter Robo requires synchronization of the three pilots. How can the Getter Robo attack so well when the pilots always fight each other?
