Moone Boy is a semi-autobiographical sitcom co-written by and starring Chris O'Dowd (The IT Crowd, Bridesmaids) about a boy growing up in Ireland in 1989- 1992.
Ever wanted to be the imaginary friend of an idiot boy in the west of Ireland? Well, neither did Sean Murphy (Chris O'Dowd), but there you go.
Meet Martin Moone (David Rawle), a plucky eleven-year-old boy living in a chaotic house in a small town. With an ambitious mother trying to forge a career, a troubled father who hides in his shed, a trio of sisters who are determined to torment him, and of course all the pitfalls of the playground, life isn't easy for Martin. But at least he's got the friendship and terrible advice of his imaginary friend to guide him.
