Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt star in this gothic horror directed by Neil Jordan. In modern-day San Francisco, Louis de Pointe du Lac (Pitt) narrates the story of his life to reporter Daniel Molloy (Christian Slater), who is shocked to hear what Louis has to say. In New Orleans in 1791, Louis, lost to grief after the recent deaths of his wife and unborn child, meets Lestat de Lioncourt (Cruise), who turns him into a vampire.
Louis struggles to adapt to his new life and refuses to feed upon humans but when he stumbles upon Claudia (Kirsten Dunst), a young girl whose mother has succumbed to the plague, all three of their lives are changed forever. The cast also includes Antonio Banderas, Stephen Rea and Domiziana Giordano.
