Mason Thames stars in this live-action remake of the 2010 animation written and directed by Dean DeBlois. Teenaged Viking Hiccup (Thames) lives on the windswept island of Berk where his father Stoick the Vast (Gerard Butler) is the tribe's fierce chief. As part of his warrior training Hiccup is forced to fight dragons but his life takes an unexpected turn when he saves and befriends an injured dragon he names Toothless.
As he learns more about dragons and dreams of a future where Vikings and dragons can live together in harmony, he comes into conflict with not only his father but also an ancient and powerful enemy. The cast also includes Nico Parker, Nick Frost and Julian Dennison.
