Christian Bale and Wes Studi star in this Western co-written and directed by Scott Cooper. The film follows Joseph J. Blocker (Bale), a renowned army captain escorting Cheyenne chief Yellow Hawk (Studi) back home through hostile territory.
Setting out from the deserts of Arizona, Blocker and his small band of soldiers pick up the traumatised Rosalie Quaid (Rosamund Pike) and dangerous convict Philip Wills (Ben Foster) along the way as they attempt to reunite the ageing chief with his family in Montana. The cast also includes Q'orianka Kilcher, Rory Cochrane and Peter Mullan.
