Sci-fi action drama directed by Rupert Sanders and starring Scarlett Johansson and Michael Pitt. Based on the iconic manga series of the same name by Masamune Shirow, the story revolves around human-cyborg hybrid The Major (Johansson) and Section 9, her cyberterrorism taskforce protecting a futuristic Japan from the dangers of their extremely technologically advanced society. With a highly skilled cyberterrorist determined to wreak havoc on prominent artificial intelligence company Hanka Robotics, The Major must lead her forces into battle while also attempting to find out more about her own mysterious past.
