Double bill of horror thrillers written and directed by Parker Finn. In 'Smile' (2022) psychiatrist Dr. Rose Cotter (Sosie Bacon) meets a patient who claims to be able to see something that no one else can, something terrifying, and then she dies brutally in front of Rose.
When Rose starts experiencing similar occurrences and learns that everyone else affected died soon after, she fights to escape the same fate. In the sequel 'Smile 2' (2024), troubled popstar Skye Riley (Naomi Scott) is about to embark on a comeback tour when she witnesses the violent death of her drug dealer. Soon afterwards she begins experiencing disturbing hallucinations and starts to lose her grip on reality.
As she learns more about the curse she has fallen victim to, she desperately attempts to escape her looming fate.
