Solace presents a dynamic set of wholly improvised works from Jonathan Crossley, David Kollar and Lukas Ligeti. Recorded in June 2024 during an artistic residency at the University of Liverpool, it captures three singular musical minds in deep, real-time dialogue. The digitally enabled guitar practices of Crossley and Kollar intersect with the polymetric, Africa-inflected drumming of Ligeti, generating environments that move between ambient, pulsating and rhythmically intricate states. On the title track, the trio are joined by Arve Henriksen, whose haunting horn and synthesizer work adds an expansive, textural dimension.
