The Audelco Awards was established in 1973 by Vivian Robinson to honor excellence in African American Theatre in New York City. This documentary film chronicles the 50-year history of the Audelco Awards from the beginning to the present through the eyes of the present President, Jackie Jeffries. Ms. Jeffries takes us on an entertaining and historical behind the scenes ride through the years of the awards, the awardees and the people that built this prestigious institution.
