Cheb Hasni, whose real name is Hasni Chakroun, is an Algerian rai singer, also nicknamed the Nightingale of Rai, born on 1ᵉʳ February 1968 in Oran, Algeria, and died murdered on 29 September 1994 in the same city. He is considered the king of sentimental raï.
