Rockshots Records proudly present "As The World Tree Fell", the debut album by Finnish band Canvas of Silence -- a striking blend of progressive metal, atmospheric rock and cinematic orchestration led by expressive female vocals. With their self-styled "Prog-influenced Chorus Metal", the band crafts dynamic and emotionally rich songs where technical complexity meets melodic immediacy.

Each track explores a vast sonic palette: heavy guitars and layered arrangements collide with symphonic textures, while haunting vocal lines rise over polyrhythmic passages and expansive choruses. The songwriting balances contrasts--soft and loud, beauty and aggression--inviting listeners on a journey that is both cathartic and thought-provoking. From the visceral impact of "Drown" to the uplifting serenity of "One With the Wind", the album flows through moments of despair, reflection and fragile hope.

The project, initially started by guitarist and composer Tatu Hanhikoski, grew into a full band with Aino Vuorenmaa on vocals, Jaakko Puusaari on guitar/vocals, Mikael Minkkinen on bass and Iiro Vuori on drums. Influenced by progressive rock, alternative metal and even anime and film scores, the band draws comparisons to Pain of Salvation, Nightwish and In Flames -- yet their sound remains uniquely their own.

Produced by Hanhikoski, Puusaari and Joonatan Jaakonaho, mixed by Jaakonaho and mastered by Miro Kiiski, the album showcases a clear artistic vision, both musically and lyrically. "As The World Tree Fell" is a powerful and intimate debut from a band with something meaningful to say -- and the tools to say it.
