Kaya Scodelario and Barry Pepper star in this American horror directed by Alexandre Aja. When aspiring swimmer Haley (Scodelario) is informed about an impending hurricane due to hit Florida she defies state orders by refusing to evacuate until she has checked on the safety of her father Dave (Pepper). When she discovers him in the basement of the house he is already badly wounded.
However, as she attempts to help him to safety Haley realises that the exit is blocked by ravenous alligators. As the storm intensifies and flood water breaches the basement Haley does all she can to protect her father and free them both from the clutches of the alligators.
