All 12 episodes of the Japanese anime about young girl and first-time gamer Kaede Honjo (voice of Kaede Hondo) who creates an avatar named Maple. Kaede is encouraged to play a virtual reality game by her best friend Sally (Ruriko Noguchi). Her trepidation and fear of being hurt results in her creating an avatar, Maple, whose sole focus is on defence.

Despite this unorthodox approach Maple quickly becomes one of the strongest characters in the game. However, when the administrators make amendments to quell her dominance they soon realise that her popularity is an asset for the game.
