Timothée Chalamet stars in this biographical musical drama co-written and directed by James Mangold. Bob Dylan (Chalamet) arrives in New York and soon becomes part of its vibrant folk music scene but as he rises to stardom, he finds himself desperate for artistic freedom. He wants to record his original music but is forced by his label to release mainly covers.
When he begins experimenting with electric instruments, the Newport Folk Festival fear that he may debut his controversial new sound while headlining their 1965 event. When he does just that, many in the crowd are outraged, but he is finally free to be himself. The cast also includes Elle Fanning, Monica Barbaro and Edward Norton.
