Founded in 2004, Finsterforst have released 5 albums and 2 EPs so far. Starting as a folk metal act with high usage of accordion, the band has evolved it's sound to some kind of epic and cinematic mix of post, post black, black and folk metal featuring an enormous range of different singing styles and heavy riffing. The band itself calls this sound Black Forest Metal, referencing their roots in the Black Forest region. During the covid pandemic Finsterforst asked their fans to help funding a new EP with only one song clocking in at almost 40 minutes. The fans came to help, jenseits was born. Definitely not made for streaming, Finsterforst continue to go their own way of creating mind-bending art that will stand the test of time. The new mini album has only one song clocking in at almost 40 minutes. This album is divided into 4 chapters.
