Following a period of economic collapse and civil unrest, the United States is now run by a totalitarian government. For entertainment, the regime has created the Transcontinental Road Race, a brutal competition in which entrants try to kill each other along with any pedestrians in their path.
This year, Joe 'Machine Gun' Viterbo (Stallone) is determined to defeat defending champion Frankenstein (Carradine), but with a resistance group planning to sabotage the race to spark a revolution against the government, anything could happen...
