Italian Western directed by Sergio Leone, starring Rod Steiger and James Coburn and set during the Mexican Revolution during the 1910s. When Mexican bandit Juan Miranda (Steiger) encounters John Mallory (Coburn), an Irish revolutionary with an obsession for dynamite, he bribes the explosives expert into assisting him with a bank robbery. However, the bank is being used as a political prison by the army and their actions lead to the accidental release of Mexican revolutionaries.
Hailed as heroes by the political prisoners the pair find themselves facing off against the army and taking up the cause of the revolution.
